At the bottom life continues to be hard on Tring Athletic, despite another encouraging performance the Hertfordshire club lost 1-3 at Leighton Town, the hosts scoring twice in the last ten minutes to bag all three points. Broadfields United picked three useful points at home when defeating their former landlords Harefield United by a solitary goal while Dunstable Town went down to a solitary goal defeat at Arlesey Town. Elsewhere Crawley Green overcame visiting Leverstock Green 4-2 in the ‘Green Derby’ and Potton United inflicted further misery on struggling London Colney with a 3-1 win at the home of the Hertfordshire club. The night’s other action saw Edgware Town entertaining neighbours Wembley in the ‘Lion Derby’ and as expected it was a tightly contested affair which finished all square at 2-2. Monday night saw New Salamis welcoming Stotfold to Coles Park, New Salamis fresh from Saturday’s FA Vase success were looking to climb up from their mid-table position to challenge the early pace setters. It was a dream start for the hosts with a goal from their first attack went on to add another before the break. The second period saw them dominate once again and added four more goals before Stotfold missed a late penalty. Twenty four hours later saw Buckingham Athletic go top of the table as they thrashed visiting Hillingdon Borough 9-1 at Stratford Fields with Owen James netting a hat-trick. Shefford Town & Campton moved into second spot following a 3-1 win at Winslow United thanks to a Jonathan McNamara hat-trick with all four goals in the match coming in the first half hour while elsewhere struggling London Tigers were beaten 1-4 at home against Rayners Lane. Wednesday night saw St Panteleimon lose back to back league games for the first time in their SSML history when going down to a solitary goal defeat at the hands of London Lions, the visitors climbing into the top four.
